Congratulations on being chosen as a member of the JSU Marching Southerners Colorguard Program.  This seasons promises to be a FANTASTIC one and I am glad that you will be a part of it.  Being a member of the marching southerners Colorguard is a very special honor.  You were selected for your talents in the area of flag, rifle, sabre and or movement.  For some of you, being a member of this organization will push beyond the limits of what you think you are capable of achieving.  Unfortunately, some of you will feel that the mental and physical demands are too much for you at this time and make the decision during band camp not to be a member of this nationally known organization.  Every member of the southerners has to make this decision.  You and you alone know what your limitations are.  The only thing I ask is that you do not sell yourself short. NOTHING WORTHWHILE IS EVER EASILY OBTAINED.  The Marching southerners colorguard works hard to maintain the level of excellence people have come to expect from us.  This is not done by being lazy or settling for mediocrity.  THE MARCHING SOUTHERNERS ARE INNOVATORS IN THE WORLD OF COLLEGE MARCHING BAND.

According to CollegeOTR the country's premiere college blog, capturing the best of everything that happens at college, Jacksonville State University Marching Southerners was name the fourth top college marching band in the country!  So as you can see people have come to expect a specific excellence from our program and the JSU Colorguard plays a very important part in this equation.
